WebAug 1, 1998 · The element concentration in the samples was determined using an ICP-MS instrument PlasmaQuant ® MS Elite (Analytik Jena, Germany). The detection limits in this method range from 0.2 ng·L −1 in... WebBlank counts for mass spectrometers with high resolving power may be 0.1 to 1 c s–1or less. Then the detection limits for ICP-MS with sample nebulization may be estimated theoretically. As an example we take an element with middle mass 89Y (a r= 1): cm= 3 · 89 · 1/4.5 ×104· 1 = 59.3 ×10–4= 0.006 ppb = 0.006 ng mL–1for s pho in bartlett
SOP HW-2b Revision 15 December 2012 - US EPA
WebOne hundred crowdsourced samples from municipal water supplies were acquired and tested via ICP-MS for concentrations of Al, Cu, As, Cd, Hg and Pb. Analysis was conducted via ICP-MS using an element-expanded variant of EPA methodology 200.8. [1] Resulting data reveal some samples exceeded current EPA limits for elements in public water. Webferences in ICP-MS and are caused by atomic or molecular ions that have the same mass-to-charge as analytes of interest. Current ICP-MS instrumental software corrects for all known atomic “isobaric” inter-ferences, or those caused by over-lapping isotopes of different elements, but does not correct for most polyatomic interferences.
